The Durham Federation Gets Together

We have a highly successful Federation Parent/Carer and Staff Group called 'The Durham Federation Gets Together'. We have half termly meetings and have a gradually growing membership of 15-20 staff, parents/carers and members of the local community.

In starting this group we wanted to involve parents and carers in the progress of our colleges and the students within them, as well as finding out what and how to improve to make our colleges even better!

We have had two successful 'Bags To School' projects where bags were sent home to be filled with clothes, linen etc. Once returned to college the weight of the bags turned into cash for The Durham Federation Gets Together and our colleges and the bags were sent to people and children less fortunate than ourselves. We have raised over £250 by doing this.

We have also held a highly successful Indulgence and Vocational Evening in November in our Salon and Vocational Centre at DCBC. This included pampering, hair and beauty treatments and massage in the Salon and top tips for home improvements in the Vocational Centre. This was an excellent evening with £170 raised for our funds.

We're always looking for new members for The Durham Federation Gets Together, so if you're interested please contact Mr Jones or Mrs Robbins in college or register your interest by using the parental mailbox by e-mailing: parents.durhamcbc@durhamlearning.net or parents.fyndounecc@durhamlearning.net.
