DCBC is now well into it second phase of Specialist Status where it has had the benefit from additional funding which provides our students the very best resources to develop a Business Enterprise and Technology Culture which permeates the College and helps to improve attainment.

DCBC offers a wide range of GCSE courses from the traditional Design and Technology subjects of Electronic Products, Food Technology, Graphic Products, Resistant Materials and Textiles We also offer vocational courses in Hair and Beauty, Health and Social Care, Construction and the Built Environment, Child Care and Business Studies.

The Business Studies and Construction Courses require students to complete 50 days of work placement; this provides an excellent opportunity to see first hand the workings behind an organisation. These vocational courses will equip students with the necessary skills and attributes for the work place, this gives a clear head start in the job market.
- All KS3 students have the opportunity to gain the BITE Mark Awards in Technology and Business.
- All students in Year 9 have taster days for Vocational courses.
- Students have the opportunity to Fast track KS4 in Technology and ICT subjects.
- Students regularly work on design challenge activities, these develop team work, creativity and problem solving skills in a fun but challenging manner.
- Students enter Local and National competitions in Business Enterprise and Technology subjects.
- Business partners work with our students on Enterprise Activities as well as providing active support for our Business Courses.
